Collect anonymous data through an interaction
To collect honest and reliable responses, it is often crucial to ensure that interactions are truly anonymous. Without clear confirmation that participants' privacy is protected, they might second-guess their answers, resulting in inaccurate or misleading data.
The "Make responses anonymous" feature allows participants to engage with your interaction without revealing any personally identifiable information. While their responses are still recorded, no external metadata - such as names, emails from prior interactions, or IP addresses - will be associated with them when this feature is enabled.
Please note that this feature does not alter the questions within the interaction itself. If personal information is requested in the questions, interaction creators will need to remove or modify those questions to maintain full anonymity.
Here are the steps to make responses anonymous:
1. Navigate to the Deliver tab and scroll down to section Authentication
2. Mark the checkbox “Make responses anonymous”
Once you check the "Make responses anonymous" box, an additional checkbox will appear, giving you the option to inform participants that their response is anonymous. If you select this option, a default message will automatically be displayed to participants, notifying them of the interaction's anonymity. Alternatively, you can choose not to display the message and provide this information in your own way.
Here is the message that participants will see at the beginning of the interaction if you have enabled this option:
