Have you ever wanted to make some questions worth more than others? Or give partial credit for an OK-but-not-great answer? Custom Scoring allows you to do just that (and more!).
To enable Custom Scoring, click on the toggle in Edit Tab. You can also adjust the passing score accordingly:
When you turn on Custom Scoring, a new “Points” column appears in the question modal:
The Custom Scoring feature applies to Multiple Choice, Dropdown, Image Select, and Short Answer question types. You can enter any value from -9999.99 to 9999.99 for each answer choice.
Tip: Don't forget to adjust the "maximum selections" option as necessary!
Question points will be displayed during the quiz for participants by default:
If you don’t want the possible points for each question to display, you can disable it in the Design "Frame" tab.
Score Ranges can be created in the ‘Results View’ tab. Click the ‘Add Score Range’ button and the following modal will appear:
Display Points in Results View allows you to decide if you want to show the final points for participants or not.
When creating score ranges remember to be exact, including decimals if appropriate. If you have to score ranges that overlap, e.g. 25-50, 50-75, then anyone scoring a 50 will be assigned to the 50-75 range. Try 26-50, 51-75 or 25-49, 50-74 instead.
Recommendations
Custom Scoring is currently working only for Scored Quizzes. You can also apply Custom Scoring to existing quizzes. However, if the quiz has already collected responses, the custom scores won’t apply to the old responses.
We do not recommend using Skip Logic for Custom Scoring. If you use skip logic for a Scored Quiz and allow participants to skip scored questions, any skipped questions will be marked as incorrect and negatively impact their scores.
