Generate with AI, powered by OpenAI, gives you a leg up when it comes to creating initial quiz and survey content. While you will always want to review the AI-generated content carefully, and you may choose to reject or edit some of what the app suggests, it can be a huge time saver to get your creation process started.


To get started, click on "Create Quiz" or "Create Survey" and proceed to question creation. From there, click the "Generate with AI" button to open the generation modal, where you can define how you'd like your questions to be created.



Generate Questions Using a Prompt


For both quizzes and surveys, you can describe what you're looking for using a freeform prompt. Simply enter a prompt that describes the type of questions you want, and the AI will generate them based on your input.


Make sure to adjust the related fields in the modal (such as number of questions and number of answers per question) to match your intended format. For example, if you're generating True or False questions, be sure to set the number of answers per question to 2 before clicking Generate.


Example prompts:


  1. Quiz – "Generate quiz questions about basic facts about climate change."
  2. True/False Quiz – "Generate True or False questions about internet safety best practices." (Set the number of answers per question to 2.)
  3. Survey – "Generate survey questions to help understand employee engagement and job satisfaction."



Add Source


In addition to using a prompt, you can provide source material to generate more targeted questions. There are two ways to add source content:


Load from URL – Paste the URL of the page from which you want to generate questions and click "Load." This will scrape the content and display it for your review before generating questions. Note that not all URLs are compatible with our text scraping feature. You may encounter issues with gated content, CAPTCHA challenges, or other access restrictions. If we're unable to scrape content from your URL, you can copy the text manually and paste it into the prompt field instead.


Upload Files – You can upload source files directly. Currently supported file types are PowerPoint (.pptx) and PDF, with a maximum file size of 5 MB per file. You can upload multiple files to use as source material for question generation. The total content across all uploaded files should not exceed 1,000,000 tokens (approximately 700,000 words).


Refine Questions


Once your questions have been generated, you have the option to refine them. All questions are selected by default — you can deselect any question by clicking the checkbox icon next to it. You can also provide additional context or instructions and regenerate questions, allowing you to refine and improve the AI-generated output without starting the entire process over.



Edit Your Questions


After questions are generated, you can also make adjustments directly from the preview list. You'll notice a pencil icon next to each question — clicking it allows you to make quick edits to that question. You can also remove individual questions from the list or regenerate a specific question on its own.



Notes:


  • All AI-powered features are controlled from the Admin Panel, where organization administrators can choose whether to enable them for their organization.
  • You can also choose to use your own AI provider, which can be configured in the AI Settings section of the Admin Panel.
  • Each user is currently limited to generating a maximum of 10 interaction prompts per hour.
  • Generate with AI is freely available to Enterprise, Premier, Ultimate, and CredSpark+ license tiers. We may revisit/adjust this availability.
  • The usual disclaimers about AI-generated content apply – we cannot guarantee it is accurate or correct and it should always be reviewed and approved by a human.
